Vision and Core Values
Vision
Cornerstone Baptist Church exists to develop a thriving community of believers that is
passionate about their faith as they develop a walk with God, train believers to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and have a multi-generational impact in this endeavor.

Core Values
A. We center all we do on Christ. We desire that Christ would have preeminence in all
things, in His church, and in our lives. (Colossians 1:18, Revelation 4:11, 1
Corinthians 10:31)
B. We study and submit to God’s Word. Above all, we want to please God and stay true
to His Word. This necessitates that each member knows and follows God’s Word. We
would rather be biblical than popular. (2 Timothy 3:14-17, Acts 5:29, 2 Timothy 1:13)
C. We engage others with the gospel. The truths of God’s Word apply equally to every
generation and culture. Sharing the life-changing truth of the gospel is the most
compassionate and important endeavor in which we can be involved. (Matthew
28:18-20, Romans 1:14, 1 Timothy 2:3-6)
D. We enjoy serving the Lord. We enjoy church life. Serving the Lord is not simply a
duty; it is enjoyable, and so we serve together with joy and passion. It is the
outflowing of Christ in us. (Psalm 100:2, Nehemiah 8:10, John 7:38)
E. We live by faith. We believe God desires and is able to do what we cannot do. We
strive to be excellent in all we do. We sacrifice and give cheerfully, believing God
uses our gift for His glory and that He replenishes our resources. (Ecclesiastes 9:10,
2 Corinthians 9:7; Ephesians 3:20; Philippians 3:13-14, Philippians 4:19, Daniel 6:3)
F. We bring our families along on the journey. The Christian life is better caught than
taught. We do not want to leave our own families behind as we minister to others, but
rather to bring them along on the journey of following and serving God. (Joshua 4:6-
7, Deuteronomy 6:1-7, 20-25, Ephesians 6:4; 1 Timothy 5:8)
Purpose
LOVING GOD

Loving God begins in the heart, with a personal relationship with Him. As we gather and participate in Christ-honoring worship services and respond to the preaching of God’s Word, this love flourishes. (Mark 12:30)
GROWING TOGETHER
SERVING OTHERS

We grow together, in Christ, through the study of God’s Word. This occurs in our weekly services, Bible studies, in one-on-one discipleship, and developing meaningful relationships with fellow members.

As we find a place to serve others in the body of Christ, our growth
and gifts will be ignited. We serve others by witnessing in personal outreach, giving to
missions, and helping other believers along with their needs and personal growth.
